Uganda

With gasoline peaking in Georgia (USA) at $4.89 a gallon this weekend, I thought of my time in Uganda. One or the major ways to get around in Lira, a town of about 125,000, is by a bicycle-taxi. The bicycles are made in India as are most of their other imports. The USA has little presence there. The only Usa presence I could detect was Franklin Graham’s Ministry, The World Bank(Minimal), UNICEF and Coca Cola. Back to the bicycle. It burns no gasoline and gets one around town for about fifteen cents. We in the USA should be so ingenious.
